Goddess Children and Parents
Nine Seasonal Workshops for 4 – 7 years and 8 – 11 years
with Priestess Jennifer Murphy
Exploring the Goddess Wheel of the year through ceremony and workshop for children and their parents or carers. These Goddess focused workshops offer children and their carers a great opportunity to be together to learn, appreciate and participate in the joys of Mother Nature and her magic.
My two children always took an interest in my seasonal celebrations and crafts throughout the wheel of the year. So, it became a natural part of our journey through the seasons together, enjoying, honouring and celebrating Goddess and her nature. It has been a true joy to watch and see them learn to love and respect our world, and to learn about Goddess and her nature throughout the seasons of the year.
Goddess Children & Parent Workshops seemed like the next natural progression – to offer these ceremonies and craft making activities to others. To help inspire the next generations to honour, care for, love and respect our Mother Earth and Goddess in all her wonderful aspects. Each exciting and empowering workshop focuses on the Goddess of the season, creating seasonal altars, the gifts of each season, the qualities of Goddess and her nature through journeys, story and ceremonies, painting, creating, poetry writing, potion-making, flower crowns and wand-making to name a few.
There are nine one and a half hour long workshops for 4-7 years old and 8-11 years old, held in the morning and afternoon on Saturdays, and spread through the year. Workshops 8 and 9 are on the Saturday and Sunday of the final July weekend.
Workshops take place at Goddess House in the Banbha Room and participants need to be able to climb stairs to use the bathroom facilities in Goddess House.
Each workshop focuses on the Goddess of the season who is explored in ceremony, creating, story and song. We focus upon each season’s colours, trees, plants and other attributes, and on ways in which we can honour and celebrate Goddess and her nature.
Each class begins with a brief outline of the class ahead. What this season is and what we will do, followed by grounding and centring – being like a tree, stretching our roots down through our feet into the ground, standing with our strong trunks and reaching with our branches and leaves to the stars.
