Sacred Birth Keeper Spiral

With Kristina Turner and Susannah Rickman

Reclaim ceremonial practices and natural wisdom for pregnancy, birth and postpartum

One year training online, and with two in-person weekends in Glastonbury*

Opening Ceremony

Eight Weekends: Start Date 1 – 2 February 2025 in Glastonbury (it will also be possible to participate online)

Sacred: holy, consecrated, blessed; worth of reverence, awe and respect

Birth: the emergence of new life and new identities

Keeper: someone who assists and nurtures; carer, protector, defender

We call all midwives, doulas, birthworkers and anyone longing to step into the role of Sacred Birth Keeper.

We invite you to assist and guide women back to their inherent (but often forgotten or suppressed) wisdom and intuition. We welcome all who want to honour the sacred creative power of mothers; the divine force that expresses itself through a woman’s body, and the transformational process that generates new life.

Are you ready to reawaken what has been lost and forgotten – in yourself and in the culture that surrounds birth in our society?

In this year-long training, you will explore the meaning of birth from a deeper perspective and broaden your understanding of the context of birth. It is not a doula training and does not cover the physiology of birth, although we can guide you to appropriate resources. The main focus is not on supporting women during birth itself, but rather ahead of birth and afterwards.

The training is aimed at anyone wanting to hold space for and support expectant parents across the threshold of life and death. The course content enables practitioners to develop their own ceremonies and rituals focused on spiritual and emotional nurture. It gives you the tools to support the deep transformation that these rites of passage engender.

*Students can also participate online if they are unable to travel to Glastonbury

Sacred Birth Keeper Spiral

Are you ready to help lift birth out of the grip of the institutions and into the arms of the Great Mother?

Do you see a connection between how we treat Mother Earth and expectant mothers? Are you longing to reinstate both to their rightful honorable and exalted place? Are you willing to direct your attention towards the cycles, elements and energies of the Earth and explore their connections with fertility, pregnancy and birth? Do you believe, like we do, that this is important, not only for individual families, but also for future generations and the future of the Earth?

This one-year training will deepen your understanding and expand your personal capacity through ceremonies and rituals, song, movement, practical exercises, creative activities and direct natural experiences, as well as short lectures on subjects related to pregnancy, birth and the early days of motherhood.
